Swedish electric motorcycle startup RGNT Motorcycles has begun taking pre-orders for its RGNT No. 1 electric motorcycle. The bike features a retro-inspired design yet still offers a host of modern features and high-tech functions.
The bike is designed primarily as an internet of things (IOT) device, that enables its users to remain connected anywhere, anytime. Designed with classic retro looks, drawing on the best bike designs from the 60’s and 70’s, the RGNT No. 1 is a breath of fresh air – design-wise – in the sea of futuristic looking electric motorcycles.

RGNT No. 1’s most distinguishing feature would be its sophisticated touch-based Human Machine Interface (HMI) module designed in partnership with Qamcom and Evolve. Featuring GNSS positioning and 4G connectivity, the bike will be equipped with complete real-time system data logging. This would enable the bike to receive software updates over the internet, as well as cloud-based bike data management and navigation.
The bike is rated for a top speed of 125 km/h (78 mph) and gets a range rating of 150 km (93 miles) from its 7.7kWh battery.

That range relates to an efficiency of around 50 Wh/km, meaning the range was likely determined using an average speed of around 55-70 km/h (35-40 mph). In other words, that’s the city range. Don’t expect to go that far when riding flat out at highway speeds.
For power, the RGNT No. 1 sports a rear hub motor running on a 72V system. The motor is rated for 8kW of continuous power and 11kW of peak power.
