Nikola Corporation is excited to announce the product launch of the Nikola Badger electric pickup truck with an estimated range of 600 miles.
Nikola is mostly known for its fuel-cell-powered semi-trucks, but back in February, it shared the first details about the upcoming Badger pickup truck. The vehicle will join the already crowded world of electric trucks headed toward the market. But it has a twist. It’s available as just a battery-electric vehicle or as a battery-electric fuel-cell vehicle. Preorders for the truck will be taken starting June 29.

The battery-electric version of the Badger will offer 300 miles of range, while the fuel-cell/battery-electric hybrid offers 600. What sets it apart from the rest of the upcoming electrified-truck pack is that, if an owner buys the battery-electric-only version, they can later upgrade and have the fuel-cell system added to their Badger.

Unlike anything on the market, the advanced electric pickup is designed to target and exceed every electric or petrol pickup in its class. The Badger is engineered to deliver 980 ft. lbs. of torque, 906 peak HP and 455 continuous HP. 0-60 mph will arrive in 2.9 seconds.
The Badger will be built in conjunction with another OEM utilizing their certified parts and manufacturing facilities.

The Badger will have 4×4 independent wheel drive, with the capability of being charged up via a regular electric vehicle charger, or having its near-18 pound hydrogen fuel tank filled at a suitable fuel station. That hydrogen is used in a 120 kW fuel cell.
The Nikola Badger will make its first appearance at Nikola World 2020 in Phoenix. Prototypes will be available for select customers and media to ride in at Nikola World. You can see more details at www.nikolamotor.com/badger .
