Royal Enfield Meteor 350 spied during TVC shoot

Royal Enfield Meteor, which could replace the RE Thunderbird motorcycle in India has been spied during TVC shoot. It's been rumoured for a while now that Royal Enfield will drop the ‘Thunderbird’ name in favour of ‘Meteor’, a name the company trademarked early last year. However, the latest spy images of the upcoming motorcycle have now confirmed that Royal Enfield's all-new motorcycle will be called the Meteor 350. The Meteor 350 will be Enfield’s first bike from the new J-platform. There are radical changes to the chassis as well as the motor. However, the styling remains quite similar to the Thunderbird 350X. Royal Enfield is rigorously testing its BS-VI range, and we have seen several test mules of the 2020 models in the past via spy photographs. The new version spotted testing, although retaining its classic style, has inevitably been modernised and appears to take some clear 'learnings' from its recent 650 twins. For a start, the engine is brand new, with an external appearance much closer to that of the 650 twin. Given the company's requirements for smaller displacement machines, particularly for the vast domestic Indian market, we imagine capacity has remained at 500cc but it’s likely the new single will be oil-cooled just like the twins. Royal Enfield launched the Thunderbird 500X & Thunderbird 350X at Rs 1.98 lakh & Rs. 1.56 lakh respectively. Prices are ex-showroom Delhi.
