AKO Trike with leaning mechanism from Lithuania-based EV startup

The AKO Trike from Lithuania-based EV startup is two-seater electric three-wheeler and features a novel leaning mechanism. Described as a vehicle between a car and a bike that would, in theory, feel like riding an airplane, the AKO Trike comes with a proprietary, patent-pending mechanism that would allow it to lean by up to 30 degrees upon turns, when traveling at higher speeds. At lower speeds, turning the wheel turns the front wheels of the Trike, but there is no titling motion. Dyson N526 electric car was killed. Now revealed

Dyson, the technology company best known for its vacuum cleaners, short-lived electric car project started in 2017. At one point some 600 people at Dyson were working on it. But after spending £500 million (about $605 million) of his own money on the project, Sir James Dyson, the inventor, scrapped the EV plans last October. While Dyson has killed its EV project, it kept most of its staff. Many of the 500 people working on the project are continuing to work on battery technology, robotics, air treatment, and lighting. Police pull over bizarre electric vehicle

Police in southern England were baffled by the most bizarre electric vehicle they’d ever seen. The tiny white two-wheeler looked like an airplane cockpit without wings or a tail and had a body constructed from balsa wood and “duck tape.” But the most surprising thing about it may have been that it was found to be perfectly legal. An officer from the Beds, Cambs & Herts Roads Policing Unit tweeted photos of the vehicle, which turned out to be a custom electric motorcycle that was registered and insured. The make and specifications of this rare species is not known. Source: Twitter

Emissions reductions are only possible if you put people on bikes, not in EVs

That entails taking people out of electric vehicles and putting them on bikes or on public transport, more or less. The report, published on August 22 and titled “Clean Growth: Technologies for meeting the U.K.’s emissions reduction target,” looks at the way in which the UK has been able to achieve world-leading emissions reductions for over 20 years and the measures that need implementing for the trend to continue. Replacing current vehicles with lower-emission versions will simply not do, and is not the all-encompassing solution the government thinks it is. The report cites the United States Geological Survey’s warning of a possible future shortage of minerals needed to make electric vehicle batteries. Current estimates show that, at the rate EVs are made right now, mineral reserves...

He had earlier outlined the government’s ambitious plan to shift to electric vehicles by 2030. Companies such as Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd, have been publicly voicing concerns about the proposed India EV policy. “Everyday, new technology is coming into the market. Technology is always ahead of rules and regulations.
