Auto Expo 2023: Maruti Suzuki eVX electric SUV debuts

Maruti has unveiled the electrifying eVX Concept, an electric SUV. It is built on an all-new platform that has been developed from the ground-up by Suzuki, and will spawn a full range of EVs from the carmaker. The eVX Concept features a 60kWh battery pack promising a range of up to 550km. It features a rugged and boxy design with proportions placing it as a compact electric SUV. In profile, we can see the eVX’s aerodynamically efficient and smooth profile with flush door handles, enhanced by the aero-optimsed wheels. The all-electric platform allows for a longer wheelbase and shorter overhangs to maximise cabin space. Mahindra unveils 5 electric SUVs and new EV architecture

Mahindra & Mahindra has unveiled five new electric SUVs as part of their Mahindra Born Electric Vision and these SUVs will be positioned under Mahindra’s two EV brands – XUV, and the all-new electric-only brand called BE. All five electric SUVs will be built on the just-revealed INGLO (Indian Global) platform, created in association with Volkswagen! The MEB (Modular Electric Drive Matrix Battery) platform of Volkswagen is the base from which the INGLO platform is created. The BMW iX all-electric SUV has been launched in India for a price of INR 1.16 Crore, (ex-showroom, India). The iX is BMW’s first electric vehicle in the country that comes via the CBU (completely built unit) route. It will be available in xDrive40 variant only for now. The xDrive40 gets a dual electric motor set-up with one motor on each axle, giving it all-wheel drive. The AWD controller distributes torque between the front and rear axles, depending on driving conditions. The Mercedes-Benz EQC SUV has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 99.30 lakh (ex-showroom, India). With this, Mercedes-Benz has become the first automaker to introduce an all-electric luxury car in India. This price will be applicable for the first 50 customers only. Powered by two asynchronous motors, one on each axle, the EQC produces a combined output of 408hp and 765Nm of torque. It’ll do a WLTP-certified 400km on a single charge, with energy being stored in a floor-mounted 85kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
