Citroen premiered the sub-4m C3 in September 2021 and will now launch it in India on 20th July 2022. The Citroen C3 will be sold in a petrol-only avatar with a 1.2-litre engine in both naturally aspirated and turbo guise. Bookings for the C3 are expected to begin officially sometime next week. The C3 has been in development for almost two years now. The cross-hatch made its global debut a few months back in September 2021 and later went on sale in South American markets a few weeks ago. Citroen has globally unveiled the production-spec C3. The C3 is the first of three models under Citroen’s C-cubed programme, and has been specifically developed for emerging markets like India and South America. India launch in the first half of 2022. The C3 will be locally manufactured here in India with more than 90 percent localisation. Citroen entered the Indian market with the C5 AirCross. It was priced on the higher side because it is being brought as a CKD or Completely Knocked Down unit. Citroen would not be able to rely just on the C5 to compete in the market.
