Bajaj Platina 100 BS6 launched, prices start at INR 47,763

Bajaj Auto has launched the Platina 100 BS6 in two variants with a starting price of INR 47,763*. The more eco-friendly Bajaj Platina 100 uses a revised 102 cc single-cylinder engine in order to comply with the stricter BS6 emission standards. The 100 cc mill comes equipped with electronic fuel injection for enhanced mileage and improved performance. This air-cooled mill is capable of producing a maximum power of 7.9 PS at 7,500 rpm and 8.34 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. The transmission here is a 4-speed unit. Kerala, North East to get Bajaj Qute first

Bajaj Auto's Qute will finally be made available for sale next month, with the company already having started deliveries of the quadricycle to dealers. Bajaj Auto dealers in Kerala and in the North East have already placed orders for the four-wheeler as it is 'technically' possible to offer the Qute for sale in these markets, the company said. Bajaj Urbanite will be Tesla in the two-wheeler space

Bajaj is reportedly working on ‘premium’  electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers, codenamed -‘Urbanite'. Bajaj MD Rajiv Bajaj has stated that the Urbanite will aim to, ‘do a Tesla in the two-wheeler space.’ The electric vehicles under the brand name 'Urbanite' will be sold for both for the domestic as well as international markets. Bajaj also confirmed that the electric vehicles including three-wheelers under the new franchise will go on sale by 2020. Bajaj Avenger FLG Rides’ Cruising Season 2017-18 calendar announced

Bajaj Auto has launched ‘Avenger FLG Rides’ Cruising Season 2017-18 – a pan-India riding community initiative for its popular Avenger brand. The ride is exclusive to Avenger owners and will be covering more than 20,000 kms. FLG rides were initiated in 2016 and received tremendous response. Taking the experience forward and making it even bigger, Avenger FLG Rides Cruising Season 2017-2018 will now be a round-the-year initiative. Pune based Westland Customs has kitted up the Bajaj Avenger Street 220 with rear disc brake and hydraulic operated clutch unit. Chinmay Dangre, founder of Westland Customs, told to technwheelz that he was not really happy with the braking performance of the Avenger 220 Street and went on to design a kit for the motorcycle. Currently the motorcycle is undergoing performance test and we will have to wait until the results are out to see if the kit is effective or not. Bajaj RE60 named- the Qute. Exports announced, India launch awaiting

The RE 60 will be called the ‘Qute’. Bajaj Auto announced the plans to export its Qute Quadricycle to countries across Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe. Production of Bajaj Qute has already commenced and the company  is awaiting for a verdict from the Supreme Court to launch this vehicle in India. Only then we can have a word on its pricing. The Qute is powered by a water-cooled 216cc 4-stroke, single-cylinder DTSi, 4-valve engine that returns a fuel efficiency of 36 kmpl. The engine produces 20 BHP of power and is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission.  The Qute can reach a top speed of 70 km/hr . It has low carbon emission of 66 gm/km.
