Bajaj is working on its Platina range of motorcycles. ICB has spotted the test mules of the new Platina undergoing testing around the outskirts of Pune.
Visually, the test mule features no change in design. Expect new color themes and decals to bring about the freshness. Closer observation shows that the crankcase gets a new Bajaj logo but the rest of the bike remains untouched.
The 2015 Platina is likely to retain its mechanicals as well. The motorcycle would continue to be powered by an air-cooled 99.27 cc 4-stroke engine which is paired to a 4-speed gearbox to produce 8.2 PS and 8.05 Nm of torque.
We expect the minor tweaks to the motor to enhance fuel efficiency. Added features like electric starter will be on offer but a front disc brake is not expected to be available even as an option.
