Tata Motors has launched a CNG variant of its popular 407 light commercial vehicle (LCV). It is priced from INR 12.07 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune).
The 407 light truck has been one of the most popular offerings from Tata Motors in the Intermediate and Light commercial vehicle (I&LCV) segment, and, so far, it was only sold with a diesel engine on offer. The company claims that compared to the diesel model the new CNG-powered Tata 407 light truck will offer 35 per cent more profitability to owners.
Powering the new Tata 407 CNG is a 3.8-litre CNG engine leveraging the fuel-efficient SGI engine technology and delivers a maximum output of 84 bhp, whiling developing a peak torque of 285 Nm. The truck comes with a fuel tank capacity of 180 litres to ensure faster turnaround time and higher productivity. Transmission duties are handled by the G400 5 Speed Manual Synchromesh Gearbox.
The 407 CNG comes with a semi-forward control (SFC) cabin with features such as a Blaupunkt music system, USB mobile charging port and Fleet Edge – Tata’s fleet management platform. The truck has a 10 feet load deck and a gross vehicle weight of 4,995 kg.
The Tata 407 CNG is offered with a 3 years / 3,00,000 km warranty.
