Yamaha has launched the updated R15 V4.0 and the sportier R15M variant in India. The bikes are priced at Rs. 1,67,800 and Rs. 1,77,800 (ex-showroom) respectively.
The R15 V4.0 arrives barely three years since V3.0 arrived in 2018, and the company has brought a new design language, new features, and even a new and sportier R15M version joining the line-up. Online bookings for the new R15 range begin from today while deliveries will begin by the end of September.
The styling of the new Yamaha R15 is inspired by the YZR-R7. It features an LED projector headlamp with LED daytime running lights on either side. It comes with a new digital instrument cluster offering Bluetooth connectivity. It has two display modes – Street and Track.
The R15 is powered by the same 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the V3.0. It now produces 18.3 BHP and 14.1 Nm and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox via a slipper clutch and quick-shifter.
The R15 is equipped with upside-down forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. It comes with disc brakes at both ends and safety aids like dual-channel ABS and traction control.
Colour options for the new Yamaha YZF-R15 series are Racing Blue, Dark Knight, and Metallic Red with the R15M receiving Metallic Grey and the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP-inspired graphics.
