TVS Ronin 225cc motorcycle launched at INR 1.49 lakh

TVS has launched the Ronin neo-retro motorcycle in India, which is priced from INR 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The new TVS Ronin is available in three variants – SS (INR 1.49 lakh), DS (INR 1.56 lakh) and TD (INR 1.69-1.71 lakh).

Before the launch today, there were a lot of rumours about the new TVS motorcycle; From Zeppelin to Retron. They have all now been put to rest. There is only one new motorcycle, and that is TVS Ronin.

In terms of design, the new TVS Ronin takes the shape of a retro-styled, scrambler-cum-cafe racer motorcycle. The motorcycle gets circular headlamp and rear view mirrors, tear-drop fuel tank and wide rear mudguard. Other key features include dual-tone colour theme, USD forks in golden finish, slim seat design and conventional grabrail. Lower section of the bike has blacked-out components such as the engine, belly pan and exhaust. It has multi-spoke alloy wheels in dual-tone finish.

Colour options on the SS variant include Lightning Black and Magma Red while the DS can be had in Delta Blue and Stargaze Black shades. The top-of-the-range Ronin TD will be available in Galactic Grey and Dawn Orange.

TVS Ronin is powered by a 225.9cc, 4-valve, single-cylinder engine that puts out 20.4hp at 7750rpm and 19.93Nm at 3750rpm. The new engine features an oil cooler and an integrated starter generator.

While it gets USD forks at front, a monoshock unit will handle suspension duties at rear. TVS Ronin will have disc brakes at both ends. Single channel ABS is on offer with base and mid variant, while top variant gets dual ABS. The TVS Ronin has a wheelbase of 1357mm and a kerb weight of 160kg.
