BS6 Kawasaki Ninja 650 launched @ INR 6.24 lakh

For someone looking for a powerful middleweight supersport motorcycle, the Kawasaki Ninja 650 promises to be a formidable package . The new 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 650 has been launched in India at a price of Rs 6.24 lakh (ex-showroom). That said, the new model commands a premium of Rs 35,000 over the outgoing one.

The Ninja 650 is now powered by a BS6-compliant, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, parallel twin, 649cc engine with FI (fuel injection) system. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox, the motor delivers 68PS and 64Nm of peak torque. Kawasaki has updated the airbox and exhaust system of the motorcycle to make sure that it meets the BS6 emission norms.

In terms of visuals, the new Ninja 650 gets an all-new aggressive-looking fascia up front similar to the one on the Ninja 400, Ninja ZX-6R and even the Versys 1000. The bike gets all LED twin headlamps and the side profile also sees slight revision in the favour of  better visual appeal.

The BS6 Ninja 650 comes with a steel trellis frame. The bike gets new 17-inch Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tyres for better handling. At the front, there are 41mm telescopic forks and 300mm dual semi-oating petal discs with dual pistons. The rear has a monoshock and a 220mm single petal disc with a single piston caliper.

Kawasaki Ninja 650 BS6 is available in a couple of colour options — Lime Green Ebony and Pearl Flat Stardust White.

Bookings for the new BS6 Kawasaki Ninja 650 have already begun at the company’s dealerships across India. The deliveries should start soon after the end of the ongoing Covid-19 lockdown.
