Bajaj Auto has launched the updated Dominar 400 with factory-fitted touring accessories at INR 2.17 lakh (ex-showroom).The new accessory package is offered as a standard fitment and comprises strong touring essentials which make the bike more touring friendly.
The standard Bajaj Dominar 400 used to cost INR 2.12 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). But the new model with accessories – which is the only variant available for sale – costs just INR 5,000/- more and replaces the current model.
The new accessories package on the Dominar 400 has been optimised for long-distance touring, and, as such, comes equipped with a much taller visor and new hand guards. It also gets a new luggage carrier and a back rest for the pillion.
Other functional upgrades to the motorcycle include a metal engine bash plate and a leg guard that has been neatly integrated, improving the crash protection of the motorcycle. Bajaj has also added a couple of convenience features such as a cast aluminium integrated navigation stay for riders to mount their navigation devices on and a USB charging port to keep their devices topped up.
Apart from the accessories included in the package, Bajaj is also selling a saddle stay for saddlebags to be secured in place, but it will be a paid accessory sold separately by Bajaj Auto dealers for a thus far undisclosed price.
Other than the added accessory package, nothing has been changed on Dominar 400. Powering the sports tourer is the same 373.3cc DOHC single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor which pumps out 39.5 bhp and 35 Nm of peak torque. This unit is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.
As for its underpinnings, the Bajaj Dominar 400 is suspended by 43mm USD forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. It gets dual-channel ABS with 320mm discs up front and 230mm discs at the rear and rides on 110/70-17 and 150/60-17 tyres, at the front and rear respectively.
