Ducati has launched the new Monster in India and has started taking bookings for it. The bike is available in two variants – Base and Monster Plus, priced at Rs. 10.99 lakh and Rs. 11.24 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.
Powering the Monster is the 937cc engine also seen in the Multistrada 950 and the Supersport. This motor complies with the stricter Euro 5/BS6 emission norms. Power and torque stand at 111hp and 93Nm, which is a slight increase over the older model.
The Monster is based on a new aluminium chassis and features a glass fibre reinforced polymer sub-frame. This has resulted in a weight saving of 18 kg over the previous model and a competitive kerb weight of 188kg.
As for the suspension, the new Monster comes with a non-adjustable 43mm USD fork and a preload-adjustable monoshock. The 2021 model runs on 17-inch alloy wheels shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres with 120/70 and 180/55 profiles at the front and rear, respectively.
In terms of features, the 2021 Ducati Monster features a 4.3-inch TFT instrument cluster, LED lighting all around, three riding modes, traction control, cornering ABS, ride-by-wire and many others.
