Lenovo has officially launched its Z2 smartphone in India, which is a rebranded ZUK Z2. The Z2 comes in two variants – 3GB RAM variant with 32GB storage and another with 4GB RAM model with 64GB storage.
At Rs 17,999, Lenovo has brought some of the hardware elements which are available only on premium smartphones to a new price category.
The Z2 Plus features a 5-inch full HD display with 2.5D curved glass design. Lenovo says Z2 Plus is primarily for consumers who are technology savvy and want to be ahead of the curve with their smartphone.
The phone runs the company’s slightly tweaked version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. The phone will be available in India in two storage options – 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and a 4GB RAM model with 64GB internal storage and is backed by a 3,500mAh battery. The smartphone is rated to last a day full of regular use by Lenovo.
Lenovo Z2 features a 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture. The camera uses a larger 1.34 micron image sensor for capturing more light in dimly lit environment. There is also an 8MP selfie camera with electronic image stabilisation.
The phones home button also doubles up as fingerprint scanner. Lenovo is calling the sensor as U Touch with enhancements like gesture support and quick switching between apps.
The Z2 Plus sports a dedicated pedometer apart from the usual gyroscope, compass sensor, accelerometer, light sensor, and proximity sensor.
