Airbus Group subsidiary APWorks launches their latest development- a light-weight, futuristic looking motorcycle called the Light Rider.
The Light Rider is the world’s first 3D-printed electric motorcycle which uses Schalmalloy, a custom aluminium alloy that is resistant to corrosion and nearly as strong as titanium.
The Light Rider, an emission-free motorcycle is powered by a 6-kW electric motor which can accelerate the bike to 80 km/h. It can gain a speed of 45 km/h in three seconds.
The motorcycle weighs just 35 kg and is 30% lighter than most e-motorcycle. The battery is exchangeable and offers 60 km over the course of one charge.
Only 50 bikes will come in the first production batch and will be damn expensive at $55,000 (INR 37,26,073).
