Tata Motors to implement hierarchy free culture

Tata Motors has decided to scrap designation policy in its bid to create a hierarchy free culture in the company. All managers between L1-L5 grades who have a team reporting to them will use the job title 'Head' followed by the function/department. Designations such as general manager, senior general manager, deputy general manager, vice-president and senior vice-president are among those that will be scrapped. Other employees, who are largely at the front end and do not have teams reporting into them, also known as individual contributors (IC4 - IC6), will only use the title of the function/department after their name. At this stage, however, the Executive Committee comprising of the MD and CEO and the leadership team, will continue to use their designations. NASA Mars Rover Concept Vehicle unveiled at Kennedy Space Center

NASA has unveiled a new concept for a vehicle that could one day transport next generation of space explorers. Created by Parker Brothers Concepts, the rover is 8.5 metres long, 4.3 metres wide and 3.3 metres high, sitting on six massive wheels and weighing 2.7 tonnes. It can carry up to four astronauts and has a detachable mobile lab. Despite its bulk, the vehicle can reach a speed of 110 km/h, thanks to an electric motor powered by solar panels and a 700-volt battery, though it's not likely to travel more than 24 km/h in the atmosphere and terrain of Mars. Eicher Polaris' first offering for the Indian market, the Multix Personal Utility Vehicle (PUV), has been spotted testing in a new avatar. The Multix in a Pickup form was spotted recently by our spy photographers. The Multix PUV is powered by a Greaves-sourced 510.7cc, single-cylinder, BS-III compliant, water-cooled, diesel engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. The engine puts out 9.79 BHP @ 3,000 rpm and 27.1 Nm of torque @ 1,400-2,200 rpm. It has a ground clearance of 225 mm and an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 28.45 kmpl.
