Hyundai Alcazar SUV production-spec revealed

Hyundai has revealed the production-spec Alcazar SUV - the three-row derivative of the Creta, ahead of its launch in our market in the coming weeks. The main talking point on the interior is the added row of seats. The Alcazar will be available with both a 6- seat (with captain’s seats in the second row) and 7-seat (with bench seating in the second row) configurations. In both configurations the second-row seats feature a one-touch tumble mechanism to give access to the rear seats as well as a sliding function to either free up more space for the second or third row passengers. Hyundai has released a video of the Alcazar showing how it can take on the different terrains. A first set of spy shots that have surfaced online give us a rough idea of what to expect from Kia's upcoming three-row vehicle. The production-spec Hyundai Santa Cruz pickup truck has been teased ahead of its global unveil on April 15, 2021. The model in the images actually has more in common with fourth-generation Tucson SUV. Jaguar I-Pace launched in India at INR 1.06 crore

Jaguar has launched the I-Pace ; the first all-electric offering by the carmaker in India. It has been priced from Rs 1.06 crore for the base S trim and goes up to Rs 1.12 crore for the top-spec HSE trim (ex-showroom, India). The Jaguar I-Pace is available in three trim levels in India - S, SE, and HSE. The I-Pace comes with two electric motors that produce a combined 400hp and 696Nm of torque. Jaguar claims the 2.2-tonne electric SUV can do the 0-100kph sprint in 4.8sec, and go on to hit a top speed of 200kph. Jaguar has equipped the all-electric I-Pace with a 90kWh battery. The Alcazar is a 7-seater version of the Creta which is already the best selling mid-size SUV of the Indian market. Hyundai has officially showcased the sketches of the Alcazar before the launch. The Alcazar gets extended rear overhang to accommodate the third row of seats and a much thicker C-pillar. At the side, we get side skirts and new diamond-cut alloy wheels. The LED turn indicators are present on the outside rearview mirrors. In the sketches, there are also strong shoulder lines that start from the front wheel arch and continue to the rear one. Jeep has launched the made-in-India Wrangler at an introductory price of Rs 53.90 lakh for the Unlimited version, and Rs 57.90 lakh for the Rubicon (ex-showroom). The fourth-generation Jeep Wrangler was originally launched in India in August 2019, and was shipped to our shores in completely built-up (CBU) form. Suzuki seems to have finally begun work on a longer variant of its popular, the little off-roader Suzuki Jimny. A first sighting of a test mule in Europe with a considerably long wheelbase confirms this development. Maruti Suzuki Jimny created a lot of hype when it was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020. A test mule of the Mahindra XUV300 has been spotted in Chennai. It has been speculated that it might be the rumoured Sportz variant powered by the more powerful 1.2-litre turbo-petrol mStallion engine. All-women crew rolls out 50,000th MG Hector

MG Motor India has manufactured its 50,000th MG Hector with an all-women crew in Gujarat’s Vadodara. In this first-of-its-kind development, women-only teams were involved in panel-pressing of sheet metal and welding to painting jobs as well as carrying out post-production test runs. The automaker has 33 percent women workforce at its facility. MG says that it aims to increase this number to 50 percent in the future. Since 2018, MG has hired many female associates in its manufacturing facility via various initiatives. Today, these women are driving core areas of manufacturing at the facility. Launched in June 2019, the Hector was MG’s first model for the Indian market, with the 10,000th Hector rolling off the line in October 2019.
