Tata Nexon EV Prime launched. Prices start from INR 14.99 lakh

Tata Motors Nexon EV has received an update. Dubbed the Nexon EV Prime, it is essentially a rebranded standard Nexon EV which receives new set of equipments from its pricier cousin, the Nexon EV Max. Prices start at at Rs 14.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Nexon EV Prime retains the same design with blue inserts to emphasise its green intentions.

The Tata Nexon EV Prime is powered by a 30.2kWh Lithium-Ion battery pack that produces 127bhp and 245 Nm of torque. According to the carmaker the vehicle is capable of accelerating from 0-100kmph in just 9.9 seconds. Also it comes in two drive modes including Drive and Sport.

The Nexon EV Prime shares a lot of equipemnt features with the Nexon EV Max. The Nexon EV Prime comes loaded with Multi-Mode Regen, Automatic Brake Lamp Activation on Regen, Cruise Control, Indirect Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (iTPMS), Smartwatch integrated connectivity feature, and Charging Timeout of 110 seconds.

Additionally, Tata Motors has announced it will be rolling out free software upgrades from July 25 onwards for existing Nexon EV customers from its authorised service centres so that they do not miss out on new equipment. The car maker also plans to bring forward an educative programme for customers who wish to avail of new equipment via the software upgrade, which will then be offered on a paid basis.

The Prime treatment has certainly made the Nexon EV a more desirable package. However, the top-end variant of the Nexon EV Prime costs Rs 84,000 lesser than the base Nexon EV Max.
