Royal Enfield Meteor 350 launched with wide customization options

Royal Enfield has launched the new Meteor 350 in India at Rs 1.76 lakh (Fireball), Rs 1.81 lakh (Stellar) and Rs 1.90 lakh (Supernova). The Royal Enfield Meteor is based on a completely new platform and is the replacement for the Thunderbird and Thunderbird X models.

It is based on a new twin downtube spine chassis that is said to be stiffer the Thunderbird’s frame. The seat height is 765 mm while the wheelbase is 1,400 mm. The bike weighs 191 kg and has a ground clearance of 170 mm.

Powering the Meteor 350 is a new 349cc, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine that produces 20.2 BHP @ 6,100 rpm and 27 Nm @ 4,000 rpm. The engine features an overhead camshaft instead of a pushrod and comes with a primary balancer shaft. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

The Meteor 350 features a round headlight with an integrated LED daytime running light. It comes with a semi-digital instrument cluster that has features such as Bluetooth and a ‘Tripper screen’ that displays turn-by-turn navigation.

The bike uses a 41 mm telescopic fork and has twin adjustable shock absorbers at the rear. It comes equipped with a 300 mm disc brake at the front and 270 mm disc at the rear. It has 19-inch and 17-inch alloy wheels at the front and rear respectively.

Royal Enfield has made it clear from the outset that the Meteor 350 is built to cover long distances and the ergonomics reflect that. In typical cruiser fashion, the footpegs are forward set, the handlebar is pulled back slightly while the seat is wide and well cushioned. At 765mm, the seat height is quite accessible too.

The Meteor 350 will be available in three variants – Fireball, Stellar and Supernova. The top-spec Supernova variant includes dual-tone colours, windscreen, tan seats and a pillion backrest.

Royal Enfield is also offering a chance to customise your Meteor 350 as per preference. The Royal Enfield Make it Yours programme allows customers to choose from a plethora customisation options. The list includes different road-legal exhausts, 8 engine-guard designs, 6 seats, multiple seat covers, 2 different windscreens, bar end mirrors, bigger forged footpegs and many colour options.
