2023 Hyundai Verna launched. Prices start at INR 10.90 lakh

Hyundai has launched the all-new Verna with introductory prices starting from INR 10.90 lakh and going up to INR 17.38 lakh. The manufacturer began accepting bookings last month, however, the company has stated that deliveries will begin in the first week of April 2023.

The Verna features new powertrain options and comes with an updated list of safety and luxury features. All variants come with six airbags and ABS as standard.

There are two powertrain options available – a 115hp, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 160hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol. The NA gets a 6-speed manual and CVT gearbox options, while the turbo-petrol can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT.

The all-new Verna gets four trims – EX, S, SX, and SX (O). The EX and S trims are only available with the 1.5-litre NA engine, while the SX and SX(O) trims are available with both engines.

The new Hyundai Verna sports fresh styling, which is in line with its global lineup. It gets a split-headlight design at the front with LED DRLs and a full-width light bar, Hyundai’s parametric grille which also houses sensors for the ADAS tech.

On the side, it gets sharp cuts and creases along with a fastback-esque sloping roof.

The Verna also gets a full-width LED light bar at the rear. It rides on 16-inch alloy wheels and gets red callipers on the turbo variant. Hyundai is offering the new Verna with seven single-tone and two-dual tone exterior colour options.

The new Hyundai Verna receives dual-tone beige-black interiors and soft-touch materials on the dashboard and door trims. The Verna also gets an ambient light strip with 64 colour options that runs across the dashboard and door trims.  It also features a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment, which offers Bluetooth connectivity, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Valet mode and over-the-air updates for the system. This unit also supports voice commands in Hindi and English for functions like switching on the AC, opening the sunroof, activating the ventilated seats and much more.

The all-new Verna will come with 6 airbags, ABS and EBD as standard on all variants. However, only the top-end variant with the DCT gearbox gets all four disc brakes.

The Verna is offering ADAS on some variants. It will have front and rear radar detectors along with a front camera, which is not offered by competitors. The ADAS supports the driver with features like Forward Collision Warning and Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Lane-keep warning and blind spot assist warning, and a safe exit warning to make sure that you don’t get run over when you get out of your car.
